Summer Intern - Assistant Instrument & Electrical Engineer


Responsibilities

  • Stores stock for spares associated with Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs) to be updated to include Safety Integrity Level (SIL) certificate. 
  • Review the existing SIF tag list
  • Check spares associated in Maximo and the Warehouse
  • Update model numbers for those not certified to IEC-61508.

  • Tabulate a cross reference of Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) library models with SIFs. 
  • Review tabulated Reliability Workbench models.
  • Check SIF datasheets and note models on this table.
  • Add SIF #’s to Assets in Maximo and attach SIF datasheets.
  • Update SIF summary spreadsheet.
  •  

  • Yokogawa Pressure Transmitters on Methanol plants entity verification. 
  • Recent EJX model updates are now certified by a different test-house and capacitance values are greater.
  • If we apply our latest entity calculation template to the existing Methanol 2 entity calculations, the existing equipment can fail (on cable capacitance).
  • Perform entity calculations on Methanol 2 EJX transmitters, highlighting those which fail.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Completed 2nd or 3rd year of Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering degree
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Office suite
  • Fundamental knowledge of instrument and electrical equipment, including PLCs
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Full New Zealand Driver’s License
  • Self-motivated and comfortable to ask for help
  • Results driven and goal orientated
  • Well organised
  • Communicates well within own group and other departments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Particular attention to detail 
  • Ability to work with others
  • NZ Drivers Licence and access to a vehicle as there is no public transport available to work site
